Jane E. Robbins
Pastel Artist
"It was love at first touch when I first picked up a pastel after a long career as an entrepreneur, strategy consultant, and management professor. While I am singular in my devotion to soft pastel as my medium of choice, when it comes to subject matter, I am open-armed. The world beckons, and I paint what I love, and what moves me. Yet I am always trying to achieve the same qualities that I see in every subject: the effect of light on color; energy and action; emotion, even intimacy; a narrative arc. I see the animate in the inanimate; to me, everything is alive.
I am a juried Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, the Pastel Painters Society of Cape Cod, and the Arizona Pastel Painters Association, and President of the Central Mass Pastel Society. I teach pastel painting at Providence Art Club, where I am an elected Exhibiting Artist; South County Art Association; Wickford Art Association; and in my home studio and online."
Bill Lane
Watercolor Artist
"Everyday scenes intrigue me the most; be it a barren landscape, boats in the harbor or city life on a busy day. I observe how the light plays into the scene and reflects off the subjects. I work to capture that light while enhancing my point-of-interest in the painting."
